People and Language
The population of around 35,000 is made up of a mixture of the indigenous tagbanwas, cuyonens and settlers from other nearby provinces. As for language, Filipino is the predominantly spoken here, although there are people who speak other dialects such as Cuyunon, Tinagbanwa, Ilongo, Ilocano and Cebuano. A considerable percentage of the population can speak English.
Climate
The weather in Coron is characterized as sunny, dry and hot. The exceptions are the months of July and August, where you can expect rainfall to be at its heaviest because of the habagat (southwest monsoon). December, January and February are the coolest months due to the amihan (northeast monsoon). Generally, the weather is excellent the whole year through, except for the rare times where there is a tropical storm or depression. Temperatures fall between 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
